This was a GREAT feature and allowed you to password protect a vault where you could keep sensitive files. With the latest version, they give you a tool to unlock so you can extract that permanently so you can save the data. Previous items deprecated was the "right click" to unlock the vault.
Overall Review: I got this on sale and included 2 years coverage for 5 devices. Remember make your passwords strong with upper case, lower case, numbers and special characters. Make it a sentence or use a password tool to generate a 20 character or more password. Pros: Great antivirus protection with extensive customization. I have been using bit defender for more than 10 years had no issues great back service. Love the version. After reading the review I decided to download it the trial version and I purchased it afterwards. The price is OK if you find good deals or discounts. It is a nice program. I use it since 3 years. I can recomment it. BitDefender no good for 'old' PCs. Bought BitDefender because was having problems with competitor software slowing my machine with updates, scan s, etc.
This software is sooooo much worse. Increased amount of PC memory - didn't help All program launched are blocked by this infernal software. Wrote to BD for refund to be told I'd missed deadline [30 days? Request politely but firmly turned down [seems to be a feature of this company - they do absolutely nothing, but they do it politely].
Moral of the story? If this review saves just one person from wasting time and money on this software, then I will feel better. Pros: On the face of it, a rasonable user interface. Cons: Don't even think about it unless your machine is new and top spec with oodles of memory and room for the constant updates. Not easy [or possible] to control this beast and get it to do what you want it to do and when.
